Bad news for anyone hoping for a radically different iPhone this year. A research note produced by Jeffries & Co. analyst Peter Misek, and reported by Forbes, points instead to an iPhone 4S with minor design changes but improved spec.

Prior to it’s release, many people were hoping that the iPad 2 would feature the same retina quality screen as the iPhone 4 & fourth generation iPod Touch. Although they were left disappointed, a new display produced by Samsung may just pave the way for a retina screen on the iPad 3.

Although it’s design is not universally loved (some people liken it to a toilet seat), I’ve always been a fan of the iBook Clamshell. Released on the 21st of July 1999, it was the first mainstream computer to feature wireless networking. I’m always on the lookout for pristine versions on eBay, which is how I discovered this unusual example.

If you own a second generation Apple TV, look out for an update the next time you turn it on. Released earlier today, it takes the Apple TV iOS to 4.2.2. Don’t expect any new features or functionality though, it appears to be more of a bug fix related update.

Earlier today Adobe released three Photoshop Touch Applications for the iPad. Developed using their Photoshop Touch SDK, they demonstrate how touchscreen devices like the iPad can be used in conjunction with the latest desktop version of Photoshop.

One of the things I miss about my old MacBook Pro is the backlit keyboard. I know the lack of one on the MacBook Air has put some people off buying it. Companies such as Logitech already make backlit keyboards for desktops, could Apple be planning to do the same?

I can’t remember the last time I visited my local market. While I’m sure it’s popular with many people, it just doesn’t appeal to me. Now if I lived in Cirencester (Gloucestershire, England), there’s a good chance I’d visit my local market on a more frequent basis, and that’s because Cirencester market has a Mac stall!

In a few weeks time I will hopefully be in the possession of one of the new 27″ iMacs, and once I’ve had a chance to play with it I will post a review on here. In the meantime, I thought I would cover some of the different options you can choose from when placing your order. Hopefully it will also be useful for anybody that can’t decide which iMac to buy.

A month on from the last one, Apple released a new iPad 2 advert today. Like the previous one, the focus is on what you can do with the iPad, and the different types of people it appeals to.
