New iPad 2 advert – If You Asked

new iPad 2 advert

A month on from the last one, Apple released a new iPad 2 advert today. Like the previous one, the focus is on what you can do with the iPad, and the different types of people it appeals to.

The voice of Peter Coyote reads how (if you asked them) different people might describe the iPad 2:

“If you ask a parent, they might call it intuitive. If you ask a musician, they might call it inspiring. To a doctor, it’s groundbreaking. To a CEO, it’s powerful. To a teacher, it’s the future. If you ask a child, she might call it magic. And if you asked us, we’d say it’s just getting started.”

Unlike the previous advert it doesn’t show a hand using the iPad. And rather than a black background the iPad is shown in a number of different settings to match the voice over, including an office, classroom and a child’s bedroom.

It’s interesting to note that neither this advert or the previous one features gaming, Apple obviously doesn’t feel it’s the right message for the target audience.
