Users report App Store problems on devices running iOS 3.1.3

It would appear that a change made to the App Store, possibly on the 16th of December, is causing problems for iPhone and iPod touch owners running iOS 3.1.1 on their devices. The problems include not being able to download apps – clicking on their price does nothing, other buttons such as ratings are also broken, and some app screenshots aren’t showing.

WSJ: Apple has already discussed TV plans with media executives

While we often speculate about new Apple products months before they’re officially announced by the Cupertino company, it’s not often they seem as guaranteed as the upcoming Apple television. Since Walter Isaacson revealed in his Steve Jobs biography that Apple’s former CEO had “finally cracked” the television set, it almost seems like a certainty.

Apple have just uploaded a new festive TV advert to their YouTube channel. Titled ‘Santa’, it features Santa Claus using Siri on the iPhone 4S to plan the busiest night of his year – getting directions, checking the weather, and looking for his naughty or nice list.

iOS 5.1 beta reveals four new iPad wallpapers

The screen capture above shows one of four new wallpapers that Apple looks set to include with iOS 5.1 for the iPad. The early access comes courtesy of 9to5Mac, who discovered them in a beta version of 5.1. The wallpapers show ripples on water, blades of grass, waves lapping on a beach, and a seascape – the last two are similar to ones included with OS X Lion.

How to set up iTunes Match on your iOS device

After weeks of waiting, iTunes Match finally rolled out to the UK and other countries yesterday, allowing users to sync their music libraries with the “cloud” for access on all of their Mac and iOS devices, and their Apple TV. Now that you’re signed up, you’ll need to set up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Thankfully, it’s incredibly easy.

iTunes Match officially launches in the UK and other countries

Following on from today’s premature international rollout of iTunes Match, Apple appears to have officially launched the service in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, and here in the UK. Apple have updated the iCloud section of their website in each of the countries to include information about Match, and links have been added to iTunes.
