Apple updates iPod nano and reduces price

At today’s iPhone media event Apple announced updates and a price reduction to the iPod nano. The new version of the Cupertino company’s smallest touch-screen device now has an improved interface featuring bigger icons – which should make it easier to use, 16 new clock faces for those who wear it as a watch, and built-in Nike+ functionality for tracking walks and runs.

How to quickly show & hide the Status Bar in OS X Lion

By default in OS X Lion, Finder windows no longer have a status bar running along the bottom. While I can appreciate that this helps to keep windows uncluttered, I sometimes miss being able to quickly see how many items there are inside a window, and the ability to re-size icons – which can be really handy when viewing folders full of photos.

Apple removes iPod Click Wheel games from the iTunes store

Those of you who never owned an older iPod may not be aware that there was once a section in Apple’s iTunes store dedicated to games for click wheel devices. It launched back in 2006 alongside the Cupertino company’s iPod classic, but today, Apple closed up shop – putting click wheel games to rest.

Apple to stream iPhone media event to Covent Garden Store

While Thunderbolt compatible devices are still scarce, it appears more companies are looking to add the technology to their products – Acer, Asustek, Belkin, BlackMagic Design and LaCie to name a few. Now it’s been revealed that even faster fibre optic based cables, set to arrive next year, will work with existing Thunderbolt equipped Macs.
