The release of Apple’s latest Christmas-themed TV advert earlier this week, got me thinking about the company’s previous festive campaigns. So, having spent a couple of hours trawling YouTube, I managed to find a total of thirteen, with the earliest being an Apple II commercial from around 1981. Each one has been embedded for your viewing pleasure – enjoy!

With the big day fast approaching, Apple has posted a new Christmas-themed TV advert for the iPad mini on its YouTube channel. The 30-second spot, which is titled “I’ll Be Home”, features a young girl performing Bing Crosby’s “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” for her grandfather via FaceTime, and ends with snowflakes falling in front of the Apple logo.

Earlier this week, Apple released iOS 6.0.2 for the iPhone 5 and iPad mini, which was supposed to address a bug that could impact Wi-Fi on the devices. Unfortunately, the update may have introduced a new problem – some users are reporting significantly reduced battery life after installing it.

If you’re thinking about investing in one of Apple’s shiny new 27-inch iMacs, and would like to be able to run Windows games or applications on it natively, here’s something to be aware of. The 3TB Fusion Drive, which is available as a £320 ($400) built-to-order option on the model, does not support Boot Camp.

If you’ve been experiencing Wi-Fi problems with your iPhone 5 or iPad mini, you’ll be pleased to know that Apple has just released an update which looks to address them. The update, which takes the version of iOS installed on the devices to 6.0.2, is available to download over-the-air or via iTunes.

Apple has released a couple of firmware updates which offer improved sleep performance and greater Thunderbolt and 5GHz Wi-Fi network compatibility for the late 2012 iMac and 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display, plus a fix for a HDMI display issue on the MacBook. A third update, for all late 2012 Mac models, also offers greater compatibility when using 5GHz Wi-Fi.
