iOS 6 to launch on the 19th of September

We finally have an exact release date for iOS 6. At today’s iPhone event, Apple revealed that it will be available to download on Wednesday, the 19th of September.

Some of the most notable features of Apple’s next-generation mobile operating system include: an all new Maps app featuring turn-by-turn navigation and 3D flyovers, enhanced Siri capabilities, a new Passbook app for storing boarding passes, tickets, and loyalty cards, Facebook integration, and a Do Not Disturb mode.

The following devices can all be upgraded to iOS 6: iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, The new iPad, iPad 2, and the fourth-generation iPod touch.

Apple released the Golden Master version of iOS 6 for developers earlier today.
