A Reuters report published earlier today appears to add weight to previous rumours that the next iPhone will sport a smaller, 19-pin connector. According to the report, which cites sources familiar with Apple’s plans, adopting the smaller port will allow the headphone jack to be relocated to the bottom of the device.

According to a report published earlier today by the Wall Street Journal, Apple’s next-generation iPhone will feature “in-cell” technology, which will allow the screen of the device to be thinner than those used in its current models.

When Apple introduced the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display back in early June, the first question on everyone’s lips was “when will the rest of the MacBook lineup get one?” Recent rumors have claimed that the 13-inch MacBook Pro is next in line to get a high-resolution display, and that speculation has been backed up by GeekBench 2 benchmarks that appeared late last month.

We’ve been speculating about Apple’s “iPad mini” for as long as I can remember, but if the latest reports are to be believed, it appears that the tiny tablet is well on its way to becoming a reality. Both Bloomberg and The Wall Street Journal have published reports in the last 48 hrs that support the existence of the 7-inch slate, which could make its debut this October.

Unfortunately, Ping never seemed like it was going to take off without the help of a well-established social network. Announced by Steve Jobs back in September 2010, it has now been nearly two years since the music “discovery” service made its debut, but it isn’t expected to enter a third year.

As much as I love my Apple TV, I’ve always felt there is one thing missing, and that’s third-party applications. As things stand, users in the U.K. don’t have access to a great deal of services. But an Apple TV SDK would open it up to apps like BBC iPlayer, Spotify, Lovefilm, and lots, lots more. According to one source, that SDK is coming at WWDC next week.

While we’re almost certain Apple won’t show off a new iPhone at this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference, there have been suggestions that the Cupertino company will refresh some of its Macs. A new MacBook Pro has been the subject of most rumors, but according to a list of leaked part numbers, that will be among 14 Macs to get upgraded in what could be Apple’s biggest refresh yet.
